Project Overview

This mission focused on generating an ultra-high-resolution orthomosaic map of the local Little League baseball complex in Boone. Accurate site data is crucial for facility management, allowing groundskeepers and coordinators to evaluate turf conditions, plan for maintenance, and organize tournament layouts.

Data Collection & Equipment

The site was mapped utilizing a DJI Mavic 3 Thermal enterprise drone. The flight path was programmed to capture highly detailed nadir (straight-down) imagery with significant overlap to ensure zero distortion across the multiple playing surfaces, dugouts, and parking areas.

Processing & Deliverables

The captured data was processed into a single, highly detailed 2D orthomosaic map.

Key Capabilities Demonstrated:

* Precision Measurements: The resulting map allows for pinpoint digital measurements of base paths, pitching distances, and outfield fencing.

* Turf & Drainage Analysis: High-fidelity visual data assists in identifying dry spots, pooling water, or areas requiring grading and maintenance.

* Facility Logistics: Provides a perfect top-down digital asset for plotting vendor tents, temporary fencing, and traffic flow for large tournament weekends.
